If you check the "Seats can be separated" option in the pre-sale request or after-hours request, seats will be reserved in the same car according to the seat availability.
Example: If you make a pre-sale request or after-hours request for three persons, you may be given seats B, C and D (in the same row with the aisle in between) or three seats in different rows in the same car. Seats in the separate car will not be assigned (if the requested number of seats cannot be found in a single car, your request will be denied due to full-reservation).
