Product revisions for “Smart EX”
The following product revisions will be made to the "Smart EX," which is an online reservation and ticketless ride service for the Tokaido, Sanyo and Kyushu Shinkansen.
1.Revision of the freight rate system in JR West and price revisions for EX Servicesrelated to freight and rate revisions in JR Kyushu
On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, we will revise the freight rate system in the Keihanshin metropolitan area of JR West Japan and revise the fares and charges in JR Kyushu. In accordance with these revisions, we will revise the prices for some sections of the "Smart EX" products.

・Smart EX service (round-trip discount)（※2)
・Hayatoku products (section including Kyushu Shinkansen) (※2)
(※1) The section between Kyoto Station/Shin-Osaka Station and Nishi-Akashi Station/Himeji Station and between Shin-Kobe Station/Nishi-Akashi Station and Himeji Station
(※2) Sections related to the Kyushu Shinkansen (including those straddling the Tokaido Shinkansen and the Sanyo Shinkansen)
■Date of implementation
・From the release date of Tuesday, April 1, 2025 (5:30)
※If you make a change operation on or after April 1, 2025 (Tuesday), for the product you purchased by March 31, 2025 (Monday), the price at the time of the first purchase will be taken over if it is within three months of the riding date at the time of the first purchase. (excluding partial change operations)
2.Renewal of "Hayatoku" products
With regard to Hayatoku products of EX Service, we will revise prices for some of our products based on the ongoing enhancement of convenience of the Smart EX service. We will also change our product lineup and expand the areas where we set products.
■Target products
◎About the new products to be launched.
"EX Family Hayatoku 7"
This is a tough product that can be used by two to six people (including Otona and Children) on the Hikari and Kodama lines of the Tokaido Shinkansen.
◎For products that expand the number of available segments or partially revise the price and efficacy.
"EX Hayatoku 7"
We will launch new products in Tokyo, Shinagawa, Shin-Yokohama, Nagoya, Kyoto, and Shin-Osaka, as well as in Nagoya, Kyoto, and Shin-Osaka (all using Hikari and Kodama). We will revise the prices of products using Nozomi.
"EX Hayatoku 21" (current: "EX Hayatoku 21Wide")
Revise the price and make it impossible to change the ride after purchase. Set a new for children.
"EX Hayatoku 3"(Current: "EX Hayatoku 3", "EX Green Hayatoku 3" and "EX Kodama Green Hayatoku 3")
We will revise the prices of products using "Nozomi" and "Kodama" and set new products using "Hikari." Set for children for all products.

※Hayatoku products prior to the renewal cannot be changed to riding days after Friday, April 25, with the product being effective before the renewal.
※Pre-renewal Hayatoku products (excluding "EX Hayatoku 28 Wide") can be changed to another product (including post-renewal Hayatoku products) for riding days after May 7 (Wednesday). However, the price at the time of the initial purchase will not be taken over.
