Launch of New Service (May, 2022) Notice

Thank you for using Tokaido Sanyo Shinkansen Internet Reservation Service.

From Saturday, May 21, 2022, we will update the reservation function and expand the area of ticket receiving stations etc.

【Contents of New Service】

■ Update of the reservation function

○ Operation when reducing the number of persons of your party
If you wish to partially cancel a reservation after booking for two or more people, you can cancel part of your reservation while keeping the reserved seats.
For detailed operation method, please see “How to change/refund reservation” after May 21.

○ Improvement of service status guidance

 ① Enhancement of push notification function when trains are delayed
The following settings can be made for the push notification function (EX App) when trains are delayed.
- You can select the delay to notify by push notification from 5 minutes or more, 10 minutes or more(default), or 30 minutes.
- The notification timing of the predetermined departure time of the reserved train can be selected from 15 minutes before, 30 minutes before, 1 hour before, 1 hour 30 minutes before, and 2 hours before.
*Delays on the Tokaido Sanyo Shinkansen Section (between Tokyo and Hakata) are subject to notification.

 ② Display of service status on My Trips
If you have a reservation on the day of boarding, and your reserved trains are expected to be delayed, expected departure and arrival time will be displayed.
*Delays on the Tokaido Sanyo Shinkansen Section (between Tokyo and Hakata) are subject to display.

 ③ Improvement of train suggestion function
(1) Train suggestions using expected train operating time
Service status will be reflected if you search by the departure time of up to 60 minutes from the point of train search on the boarding date, and we will suggest a route that reflects service status.
- Suggest trains in actual departure order
- Suggest transit route using expected departure and arrival time

(2) Reflection of service status when search a train by the train name
Service status will be also reflected if you search by the train name on the boarding date.
*Delays on the Tokaido Sanyo Shinkansen Section (between Tokyo and Hakata) are subject to notification.

■Expansion of ticket receipt area
You will be able to pick up your ticket reserved with Tokaido Sanyo Shinkansen Internet Reservation Service, at the ticket vending machines of JR East stations within Tokyo ward area, Yokohama city zone, Kawasaki station, Odawara station, and Atami station.
*You cannot receive the tickets at ticket counters of JR East.

■Extension of receipt display period
Receipt display period of Tokaido Sanyo Shinkansen Internet Reservation Service will be extended as follow.

(Current display period) From the day after the purchase date until three months later (11:30 pm JST)
(After May 21, 2022) From the day after the purchase date until fifteen months later(11:30 pm JST)

■Discontinuation of text version site
As of May 21, 2022, we will no longer provide service of text version site.
After the end of service, please use web version, mobile version or App service.

Also, as of May 26, 2022, we will block “http” access to the Tokaido Sanyo Shinkansen Internet Reservation Service login homepage in order to ensure the security of your personal information.

Please access by “https” after May 26. If you have registered as your favorites, please update it.
