Q.【JR line delays】 What should I do if significant delays in other JR Shinkansen or conventional lines mean that I miss the Shinkansen reserved with this Service?
[Before boarding with an IC card or QR-Ticket, or reciving tickets]
- Before the departure of reserved train
You can change your train by yourself. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please change it by yourself.
- After the departure of reserved train
Please consult with the station staff of the Tokaido Sanyo Kyushu Shinkansen. In addition, you can board any non-reserved train within the boarding date.
[If you cannot change the ticket yourself, such as after picking up your ticket]
Please consult with the station staff of the Tokaido Sanyo Kyushu Shinkansen. If there is a significant delay on other JR Shinkansen or conventional lines, we eill guide you to the reserved seats on the following Shinkansen if there are vacant seats.
Also, if you board the train wihout changing the ticket due to congestion ar the ticket counter, please contact the crew of the train you boarded. If there are vacant seats, we will take measures such as guiding you to reserved seats.
[When you have a reservation for Hayatoku fare]
Only when there is a significant delay, we may guide you to another train if there are vacant seats. For details, please contact the station staff of the Tokaido Sanyo Kyushu Shinkansen on the day. If you change your reservation by yourself, your reservation will be changed to the normal fare and you will be responsible for the difference in price.
*We do not gurantee that you will be guided to the reserved seats on the subsequent Shinkansen when the train is delayed. Please come to the station with plenty of time.
*The above us the case of a large delay of "JR's other Shinkansen and conventional lines", and if you use other means of transportation, you cannot board the train other than your reserved train.If you miss the train, we will refund the fare less the specified amount.
