Q.[Requests] Is it possible to specify a group of seats for two or more people?
You can specify your seat preference through a pre-sale request or after-hours request (by selecting seat D/E) to ensure two passengers (*) or four passengers are seated together in a box-arrangement (seats D/E in successive rows) in a car with five-seat rows.
(*) In car with five-seat rows, C is on the three-seater side. If you specify the seat preference to C when making a reservation for two passengers, you will be allocated on the two-seater side (seats D/E).
Note that requests for more than two passengers may, depending on seat availability, be finalized with seats that are different from the preferred seat arrangement (window seat A for ordinary car/ A for Green car; aisle seat C for ordinary car/ B for Green car, etc.) specified at the time of the request.
Example:
Selecting an A seat in an ordinary car for a reservation for two passengers
⇒Adjacent seats A and B are reserved if there are enough seats for this preference available in the same car.
Note: If you set your preference to seat A and all A seats are full, your reservation will not finalize (unless you check the "Seat can be separated" option).
