Q.【Shinkansen delays】What should I do if there is a delay on the Tokaido Sanyo Shinkansen and I would like to change to an earlier train than the one I reserved with this Service?
【If you are using an IC card or QR-Ticket and have yet to enter ticket gate or pick up tickets】
- Before the deparuter of your reserved train
We regret any inconvenience, but we would ask you process the change to your train yourself.
*Even if the scheduled departure time has passed, if the train does not depart from the reserved boarding station, you can change your reservation by yourserf. (Except a case your reservation is with the boarding station on the Kyushu Shinkansen section.)
- After the departure of your reserved train
Please consult with the station staff of the Tokaido Sanyo Kyushu Shinkansen. In addition, you can board any non-reserved train within the boarding date.
【If you are unable to process the change yourself】
Please inquire at the ticket booths at Tokaido Sanyo Kyushu Shinkansen stations (JR Central/JR Westt/JR Kyushu ticket sales desks).
If you are unable to change your reservation due to congestion at the ticket booths, please get on the train you want and speak to the train conductor. We will offer support to find a reserved seat if there are any vacant seats, etc.
[When you have a reservation for Hayatoku fare]
Only when there is a significant delay, we may guide you to another train if there are vacant seats. For details, please contact the station staff of the Tokaido Sanyo Kyushu Shinkansen on the day. If you change your reservation by yourself, your reservation will be changed to the normal fare and you will be responsible for the difference in price.
*If you want to cancel your trip, please inquire at a station ticket booth. A refund will be issued or the necessary validation will be made.
*We do not gurantee that you will be guided to the reserved seats on the subsequent Shinkansen when the train is delayed. Please come to the station with plenty of time.
*If you have a reservation of "Hayatoku" fare and when "Discount Apply" mark is displayed on My Trips/Details screen, you can change your reservation by taiking over the current discount condition. See here for details.
