Q.I want to cancel my membership with this Service; what do I need to do?

If you want to cancel your membership with this Service, tap "Membership Info." after logging in and then select "Cancel Membership".

* You cannot cancel membership if you have outstanding reservations or pre-sale/after-hours requests. Process the cancellation after all reservations have been used or refunded (takes about 2 days after the reservation is used or refunded).



*The information of smartEX members will be kept until the day on which one year has passed after the date of membership cancellation by Central Japan Railway Company, West Japan Railway Company, Kyushu Railway Company, and JR Tokai Tours, Inc. as well as Nippon Travel Agency, Co., Ltd. (hereinafter collectively referred to as “the Five Companies.”)
However, if there are transactions of smartEx Service when a member cancels membership, the information shall be retained until the day on which a maximum of one year and five months have passed, depending on the status of transactions.
[Member Information Held by Five Companies]
(1) A member’s name, date of birth, gender, address, telephone number, email address, credit card number*, the information of a pre-paid e-money card for public transportation, the nearest stations, etc. of the Tokaido, Sanyo and Kyushu Shinkansen lines, the information the member registered when applying for membership registration of this service (including changed information after membership registration), and member ID of this service issued after membership registration
*The Five Companies will retain the credit card number registered by a customer by tokenizing it (replacing the number with a different character string or numbers).
(2) The purchase history of tickets and similar items, products relating to travel, etc. and related services that the Five Companies obtain through transactions with customers
(3) The information of cookies and terminals that the Five Companies obtain through transactions with customers
(4) Information on a customer’s name, gender, age, address, telephone number and email address that the customer entered at the time of making an application for a travel product, as well as on transport modes, accommodation institutions, tourism facilities, events, etc. that the customer used when using the said travel product
