Hayatoku

These tickets are sold out on September 16th 2023.

The "Hayatoku" ticket can be used when you make a reservation at least 3 days before your date of travel. It is an economical option for using reserved-seat Ordinary Cars or Green Cars (First Class Cars) on long-distance "Nozomi", "Mizuho", "Tsubame" and "Sakura"*. The discount is even greater for weekends and holidays, making this option a great choice for long-distance travel.

Eligible trains vary depending on the section of the train you use.

"Hayatoku" - Main Points

Available for Purchase

Reserve up to 3 days ahead of your boarding date

You can make a reservation between 1 month (10:00 am) and 3 days (11:30 pm) before the date of boarding.
If your plans change after you've made a reservation, you can switch to a different fare free of charge (Payment of difference in price required).
The payment is settled in YEN and foreign transaction fee etc. accompanying this shall be governed by a contract between the Member and his or her credit card company.
Note that each time a change is made we take a new payment for the post-change fare, and then refund the cost of the pre-change fare. Therefore foreign transaction fee prescribed by the credit card company may be charged each time when making a change.

This fare has limits to the number seats (and some dates are not included).

You can book for up to 6 adults/children!

You can make reservations from 1 person up to a maximum of 6 all at once.

Applicable Trains/Classes of Service

"Nozomi" Ordinary Car reserved seats and Green Cars (First Class Cars)

When using the Tokaido/Sanyo Shinkansen (Tokyo-Hakata) section

"Nozomi" driving directly from the boarding station to the alighting station

When using the Sanyo/Kyushu Shinkansen (Shin-Osaka - Kagoshima-Chuo) section

(When there is no transfer)

"Mizuho", "Sakura" or "Tsubame" driving directly from the boarding station to the alighting station

(When there is transfer)

Snayo Shinkansen section : "Nozomi"
Kyushu Shinkansen section : "Mizuho", "Sakura" or "Tsubame"

  • The transfer station is limited to Hakata station.

When using the Kyushu Shinkansen (Hakata - Kagoshima-Chuo) section

"Mizuho", "Sakura" or "Tsubame" driving directly from the boarding station to the alighting station

Others
  • This option combines the basic fare and limited express tickets and can be used exclusively with the Tokaido Sanyo Kyushu Shinkansen lines. If you use conventional lines to/from the station at which you board/disembark the Shinkansen, payment of a separate, conventional line fare is required.
  • If you disembark the train at an intermediate station, the remaining section of your journey becomes invalid and you cannot use the ticket to board again.
  • After you've made a reservation, you can switch to a different fare free of charge. *4
  • Cannot be used with other discounts. Transfer discounts are not applicable.
  • You can choose how to board; QR-Ticket, ticket or IC card. Please see here for more details.
  • Valid only for the reserved train and class of service (You cannot use a different class of service on the same train or board a different train, including non-reserved seating). Please note that if you use a different class of service on the same train or board a different train, you will be required to purchase separately the necessary tickets, including the payment of the normal limited express fare and Green Car fare, if applicable. If you would like to change it, please ask station staff of JR Central or JR West.
  • The number of seats on each train that can be used with this ticket is limited. Therefore, in some cases you may not be able to make a reservation even if your chosen train shows available seats.
  • If you change your reservation to a train leaving at least three days from then, you fulfill the conditions for the "Hayatoku" ticket and, if sufficient seats are available, can make the change keeping the same ticket type. You can also switch to a different fare that is available for purchase at the time of change (though payment of any difference in price will be required). In addition, if you change to a train leaving within two days of changing the reservation, your ticket type will switch to the "smartEX service" (Payment of any difference in price will be required).
    If you reduce the number of persons on your reservation, a refund fee of 320 Yen per person will be applied.
